We will note the effective date of the latest version of our Privacy Policy at the end of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the Platform following posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
2. Collection of Personal Information
If you register for our Platform, we will collect your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, your mailing address, and valid credit card information. We use this information to provide you our Services and Content.
Personal information you may provide to us on through the Platform or otherwise includes:
If you do not want us to collect information about you, you can simply decide not to submit it to us. If you choose to decline to submit such information, you may not be able to take advantage of all of the Services and Goods offered by Bin and Pallet Company.
We obtain personal information from the following categories of sources:
On the Site, this information is collected using cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies, and our emails may also contain web beacons. In the Bin and Pallet Company Apps, we may collect this information directly or through our use of third-party software development kits (“SDKs”). SDKs may enable third parties to collect information directly from the Bin and Pallet Company Apps.
A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. We use cookies on certain of our pages on the Site to help analyze our web page flow, improve performance, keep your session information, customize the Services, Content, and advertising, measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety.
A few important things you should know about cookies are that:
A “web beacon”, also known as a pixel tag or clear GIF, is typically used to demonstrate that a webpage was accessed or that certain content was viewed, typically to measure the success of our marketing campaigns or engagement with our emails and to compile statistics about usage of our websites. An SDK is third-party computer code that we may incorporate into the Bin and Pallet Company Apps that may be used for a variety of purposes, including, without limitation, to capture, encrypt, or process payment information, to send smart links to a User’s device to facilitate such User’s login, to enable multi-factor authentication, to provide us with analytics regarding the use of the Bin and Pallet Company Apps, to add features or functionality to the Bin and Pallet Company Apps, or to create or enhance the user interface.
Web browsers may offer users of the Site or Bin and Pallet Company Apps the ability to disable receiving certain types of cookies; however, if cookies are disabled, some features or functionality of the Services may not function correctly. Please see the “Behavioral-Based Advertising” Section for information about how to exercise choice regarding the use of browsing behavior for purposes of targeted advertising.
3. How We Use Your Personal Information
Bin and Pallet Company’s primary purpose in collecting personal information from you is to provide to you the Services, allowing you to register, purchase Goods, bid, and otherwise interact with organizations and their staff and guests, and the Content you otherwise request on the Platform.
Additionally, we may also use your personal information for various purposes, including, without limitation, to:
4. Sharing of Personal Information
In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, Bin and Pallet Company may share your personal information in the following circumstances:
Bidding
If you decide to “Bid” in any Bin and Pallet Company auction, you will be assigned a Paddle ID for that auction. Within the auction, you will be (by default) identified to other bidders by your Paddle ID. You have the option to create your own alias to use instead of your Paddle ID. Your alias will be able to be viewed by any other participants in the auction, so please choose your alias wisely. If you include personal information in your alias (such as you name), you will be identifiable.
Credit Card Information
We use a third-party payment processor to process payments made to us. In connection with such processing, Bin and Pallet Company does not have access to complete credit card numbers or information that would allow us to access your payment card account. Rather, all such information is provided directly to our third-party partner: Stripe, whose use of your personal information is governed by their privacy policy, which may be viewed at:https://stripe.com/privacy.
Our payment processors utilize a secure tokenization method to capture and process credit card transactions through the Platform. When you enter in a credit card’s information through our interface, your credit card information is immediately and securely transferred to Bin and Pallet Company’s payment processor.
Never does your credit card information pass through Bin and Pallet Company’s servers and never is your credit card information saved in Bin and Pallet Company’s databases. In addition, Bin and Pallet Company employees and contractors and any User (including, without limitation, an organization using the Platform) do not have access to your credit card information.
When a credit card’s information is entered through the Platform or other parts of the Services and securely transferred to a third-party payment processor, such processor returns a secure token to Bin and Pallet Company that we can store and use for future transactions against such credit card. For your convenience, we store this token so that you are not required to re-enter your credit card information.
You can remove this token from the Services by logging into your account on the Platform, navigating to your account, and removing your “Card on File” shown in your Bin and Pallet Company account, unless you have an open invoice with Bin and Pallet Company or are actively participating in an auction.
Your Paddle ID will be displayed, and available to the public, while you are logged into Bin and Pallet Company Events and within the Bin and Pallet Company Apps, and is connected to all of your activity on the Services for that event. Any person viewing the applicable event page on Bin and Pallet Company Events can see for each particular item on such page that you placed a bid on under your Paddle ID, that your Paddle ID placed a bid on such item and the amount of any such bid. If you share your Paddle ID, you will no longer be anonymous to those with whom you share it.
Moreover, Bin and Pallet Company will store login and session information as cookies within the browser you use to access Bin and Pallet Company Events. If you are on a shared computer, others could have access to your account if you do not properly logout of your account. Also, Bin and Pallet Company will send live alerts and notifications to your browser or mobile device. If you access Bin and Pallet Company Events or Bin and Pallet Company Apps from a shared computer or device, certain information about you, such as your User ID, activity, or reminders from Bin and Pallet Company, may also be visible to other individuals who use the computer or device after you.
5. Account Protection
Your password or PIN (for the Bin and Pallet Company Apps) is the key to your account. For passwords, we recommend using a multi-word pass-phrase that you can easily remember, and not disclosing your password or PIN to anyone. If you do share your password, PIN, or your other personal information with other Users or third parties, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account.
If you lose control of your password or PIN, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password or PIN has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify Bin and Pallet Company and change your password or PIN, as applicable.
6. Security
No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is fully secure. While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from the risks presented by unauthorized access or acquisition, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. In the event that we are required by law to inform you of any unauthorized access or acquisition of your personal information we may notify you electronically, in writing, or by telephone, if permitted to do so by law.
